That might be to progress to the next zone, or simply to acquire the collectible Orbs, either way teamwork is necessary to complete these levels. In these, you will be expected to work as a unit at pretty much all times. Sure, working as a duo, or more, will make it easier in reaching certain areas or doing certain things (an extra pair of hands always helps), but the levels made for cooperative play are the gems that make Sackboy's multiplayer all the more exciting. The reason for that is how the gameplay itself as a co-op experience is tailored around teamwork and puzzle solving, you won't be expected to do some crazy platforming or thrust into overwhelming combat - that's pretty much the Sackboy promise.Ĭonsidering Sackboy is built to be played as a solo title, bringing an extra player to a lot of the main story levels won't add all that much depth to the game. Between the simple mechanics and smaller yet detailed levels that eliminate the need for split-screen, you can easily throw someone of pretty much all gaming knowledge into the game, and they will probably be just fine. There are even some levels peppered throughout for more than one controller, so this does a great job of being a game for the family. The simple and competent gameplay is absolutely perfect for him, and it has made a great game to do controller swapping when we die or get to the end of a level. Unleashing the game on my six year old son, he was in heaven. This is where I have to remember I am a 30 something year old man, and there are a lot of younger players than myself. Not unlike Knack or Super Lucky’s Tale, it is a solid platformer that is competent in many ways. The biggest problem with Sackboy: A Big Adventure is there is nothing about it that feels overly revolutionary.

I mean, the game is family friendly, so we can’t expect too much there right? It’s not like Sackboy is going to unleash his dark side and go on a killing spree to take out all the people between him and the man that killed his dog. The story is well …it’s a platformer story that we have seen before with some new faces. He has taken sackboy’s friends and so Sakboy must go on A Big Adventure to save the day. For better and worse.Ĭraftworld has come under attack by the big bad Vex.
